Dr. Amit Sachdeva is an accomplished academic and public health researcher with expertise in community medicine, epidemiology, and health systems research. His major research interests include tuberculosis prevention and stigma, immunization coverage, non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), nutrition, and outbreak investigations.

 

He has been principal investigator and co-investigator on several projects funded by ICMR, DHR, WHO, and NHM, addressing issues ranging from hepatitis transmission and cervical cancer screening to nutrition, iodized salt coverage, and TB preventive therapy.

 

Dr. Sachdeva has authored over a hundred publications covering diverse themes such as STDs in tribal areas, menstrual health and hygiene, metabolic risk factors in adolescents, antimicrobial resistance, the role of gut microbiota in IBD, PCOD, telecardiology, AI in radiology, and comprehensive reviews on tuberculosis elimination strategies. His work combines field-based research with policy-level insights, contributing to both national and global health dialogues.

 

His research achievements have earned him multiple awards including the IAPSM Presidential Appreciation (2025) and the Best Young Faculty Award (2024), alongside several best paper recognitions at national conferences.
